What's new

The latest additions to the codex: charts, compare, shop and drop data, similar-word search and more.

A running list of what has been added, newest first. It was written by the same AI that built the site (see About this codex), from what actually changed.

  • Compare. Put two to four items, spells, creatures, Legendary pieces or classes side by side and read every number, with the highest and lowest marked. Open it from the Tools menu or from the Compare with… button on any entry.
  • Charts. Every database has a Charts panel that graphs the table you are looking at: the top and bottom entries, two columns against each other, the spread of one, or counts by group. Spells show their cost by skill, an enemy shows what its loot table can drop, and Item rarity has a chart you can play with: pick a source, move Luck, add finders.
  • Where to find it. Every item page says which shops stock it, at what chance per shelf and from what shop quality, which shops buy it, which Legendary pieces can be made from it and which loot tables can drop its kind. Every Legendary piece has its own box with the best places to find it and the odds, worked out from the game’s own numbers. Books and magic items, the Stable and the Wagon Yard are covered too.
  • Similar-word search. A typo or two no longer hides a result: a misspelt Stormcaller still finds Stormcaller’s Bow. If nothing has every word, the closest partial matches are shown. Results mark the words you typed, an item or Legendary result has a second link straight to Where to find it, the search page answers as you type, and pressing / jumps to the search box.
  • Quest house names. “The Hearthsley Residence” and every other name a quest can give a house are now in a database, with the regions each can appear in. Quests also list where they take you.
  • Every screen size. The layout scales from a small phone to an ultrawide monitor, and touch targets grow on touch screens.
  • Share and discover. Pasted links show a title and a description, the site publishes a sitemap, and there is a Report a mistake link in the footer.
  • Calmer look. The reading style was eased back toward a plainer page, keeping the animated backdrop, which now shows a few of the series’ artifacts and famous figures.
  • About this site. What the codex is, how it was made and a plain statement that AI built it: About this codex.
